Donation of technological equipment to the school community
The quality of the education we provide to our children depends on the schools’ personnel, as well as on their infrastructure and equipment. Schools’ infrastructure and equipment are important factors in teaching processes, as they contribute to the translation of educational theory into practice, affecting both students and teachers alike. Therefore, they determine the effectiveness of the educational work to a large degree. Katheti, having taken into consideration the importance of these factors, wanted to support local schools of all levels, as well as local Children’s Centers for Creative Activities, by a donation of technological equipment to the school community.
The process
We began the process by sending out questionnaires to local schools through Mr Christos Litsas and Mr Sotiris Souchlas, the school units heads of the Municipalities of Poros and Troizina-Methana respectively. The questionnaires helped us in collecting information regarding the grades and the number of students serviced, as well as regarding the technology related lessons the schools offer. Additionally, not only did we collect information on other functions of school computers, but also on what the schools were missing.
Our offer
After researching the needs of the schools, we collaborated with the local company Level Up, donating technological equipment to the Poros Nursery, the kindergartens of Poros, Galatas, Troizina and Karatzas, the 1st and 2nd Poros Primary Schools, the Karatzas Primary School, the Junior High Schools of Poros and Galatas, the Methana Junior and Senior High School, the Poros Senior High School and the Poros Children’s Center for Creative Activities. In total, we donated 14 PCs with peripherals (monitors and mice), 7 laptops, 2 tablets and 3 projectors.
Additionally, we communicated with Desmos organization, in order to secure a sponsorship for additional equipment. Desmos functions as an intermediary between sponsors and charitable causes.

Kathethi, through its actions, supports students in preparing for their future. It supports and strengthens quality education with seminars for teachers, as well as seminars on personal and professional development, such as Digital Marketing, Soft Skills, Public Speaking and Internet Safety. It also offers Greek language lessons to children of immigrants to help them better integrate into the school community.
