Dance lessons on Poros

Dance has no age, no gender! So, what do you say? Shall we dance? For those of us who will decide to do it, the benefits, both to our body and to our soul, will surely be many. Undoubtedly, dancing is a very good physical exercise. It increases strength, gives harmony to movement and improves coordination. It offers a good opportunity for social interaction, fun and stress reduction. In addition, it enhances our self-confidence and memory. All this will be offered by the Athletic and Cultural Association of Poros “Kinisi kai Rythmos” (Movement and Rhythm), with the dance lessons on Poros at the Douzinas building (next to Cine Diana) from November to April. 

Dance and expression  

The dance lessons οn Poros, with Christos Litsas and Maria Randou, give us the opportunity to learn European, Latin, modern, as well as Greek traditional dances. We can conceivably navigate Europe whirling with the waltz and the Viennese waltz, with the dancing dialogue of European and Argentine tango and with the elegant fox-trot. On the other hand, if we have a Latina soul, we may prefer the rhythms of salsa, mambo, rumba, tsa-tsa and others. And for more modern tastes, there’s always rock and roll, swing, disco, jazz choreographies and many more. 

In addition to the dance lessons on Poros, “Kinisi kai Rythmos” association offers zumba lessons. Zumba is a dance fitness program. A fun form of exercise, which firms up the body. In addition it creates a pleasant mood, reducing stress. And, because the demands of modern life strain our body, there are also physical exercise sessions, with Anna Kalombratsou and Katerina Anagnostou. As a result, we will have the opportunity to improve our physical condition. Exercises of strengthening, flexibility and stretching correct our posture. Thus they help us avoid injuries and pains in the muscles and joints. 

Dance is an artistic expression. It makes the soul travel, it calms and refines it. It gives us beautiful memories and valuable experiences. Katheti supports artistic expression in all its forms. Dance, painting, theater and much more are included in our plans for the people of our area.
