“Do books actually talk?”

22 March 22

Fairy tales have an honorary place in children’s hearts. And of course, an important role in their edification. So, let’s give them a gift of telling a story that will lead them to their own personal quest! In April 2021, Eleni Petala’s first fairy tale, entitled: “Do books actually talk?”, was published. A story for children from 5 to 9 years old. Katheti organizes two presentations of the book by the author: one will take place on March 26th at the Douzinas building, on Poros (next to Cine Diana), and the other on March 27th, at the building of the “Cultural Action of Troizina”, in Troizina. The presentation will start at 11:00 and holds many surprises for our young friends. The participation cost for each child is €2. Read more in Eleni Petala’s interview with Katheti.

A special narrative

“Do books actually talk?”, and, if so, what would they say to us? Come and find out the answer! Young Peter needs your help! He wants to know if books talk. The more he asks, the more he gets confused. Everyone has something different to say. Some love them, others don’t and some are indifferent. That’s why he invites you to listen to his story and help him discover the secret!

It is an interactive narration accompanied by activities, where children undertake to carry out their own mission. Through the rhyme used by the author, that gives a pleasant flow, guided by the information in the book and their own experiences, each child will give his or her own answer to the question “Do books actually talk?”.

A journey into the world of books

After all, what is a book? A practical tool or an imaginary journey that could change the world? Whatever the answer for each individual person, surely books play an important role in our lives. Katheti, recognizing the importance of books, operates a lending library and reading space. At the same time, Katheti promotes books with a local flavor and presents on its webpage Local Arts authors and books related to the region.

For safety reasons children should have a mask and a self test. Please book due to limited seats.
