Ever since the school year of 2016-2017, Fay Orfanidou, one of Katheti’s founding members, has been offering Greek language lessons to immigrants in Galatas on a voluntary basis. Since this school year, though, these efforts have been reinforced. Now, along with Katheti’s support, Fay, as well as Chrysostomos and Maria, both Katheti’s volunteers, offer free Greek language lessons to immigrants and to children from immigrant families. The groups are becoming larger and larger and for the present time, 4 adult women, 2 teenagers and 4 primary school students are learning Greek and receiving free support for their school lessons.
