Non-Formal Learning: Make Your Lesson Interactive

1 March 19

Having as an aim to transmit useful skills through group activities and games, non-formal learning usually takes place outside the school environment. It is a process which helps individuals learn new things and at the same time explore themselves, reinforce their communication skills and their ability to receive feedback – however, it takes time and devotion to be completed.

In case you are an educator and you want your lesson to be interactive and innovative, if you aim to boost students’ critical thinking, to contribute to making school a space for free expression and to actively participate in programs such as Thematic Week, then you are going to need the right tools. You will have to be able to design and implement original educational activities and to adapt your lesson to the learners’ needs. Non-formal learning helps you fulfill all the above.

Join our 6-hour interactive seminar with Anastasia Karouti as your trainer to learn more and to get educational materials and tools, as well as the opportunity for one-to-one mentoring sessions. The seminar is suitable for both educators and the general public.

The trainer Anastasia Karouti, an English language teacher and translator with postgraduate studies on gender studies and feminist theory, has received training on education, non-formal and experiential learning, intercultural communication, and the Erasmus+ programme in Greece and abroad. For two years, she had been working as a trainer and educational counsellor at non-profit organisations in Romania. In 2013-2014, she participated in GROW, a nationwide educational programme for personal and professional development. As a trainer, she was responsible for designing and delivering experiential learning workshops to teenagers, as well as training international volunteers on non-formal learning.
