Our little protagonists, get ready to take the stage of imagination! With laughter, play, and creativity, we will bring stories to life and become the heroes and heroines of our own performances! Shall we transform into wizards and witches, astronauts, kings and queens, or even… dragons, wolves, and clever little foxes? Katheti, in collaboration with theatre educator Maria Georgiadou, offers the Theatre Play Workshop for elementary school children. The introductory meeting will take place on Thursday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. at Katheti, while the workshop sessions will be held every Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the ground floor of Katheti. Participation is free for all children.

Let’s turn our imagination into reality, play, and creativity! To make this magical plan succeed, however, we must first find our first treasure! What could it be?! Of course, it’s our good friend called Respect. We will learn how important teamwork, friendship, cooperation, and helping each other are!

In the Theatre Play Workshop, we will dream and play a lot so that we can express ourselves freely through dramatizations, improvisations, and unique roles! We will explore the world by playing with fairy tales, myths, stories, music, and theatrical texts! We will also do some magical tricks, but I won’t reveal all my secrets! Fabrics, images, bells, balloons, and other magical tools will become our helpers as we discover where happiness might be hidden!

Artists, actors and actresses, directors, writers, spectators, and critics, we will all become a super-strong team together! It’s time for play! Come and invent imaginary worlds, create unique characters, and become the true heroes and heroines of our lives!

A few words about Maria Georgiadou

Maria has been a Theatre Play facilitator since 2008 and has worked as a Theatre Educator in primary education since 2010. She studied at the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of the Peloponnese and holds a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, focusing on the study of language as a tool for theatrical expression. Since 2015, she has lived in Poros, teaching Theatre Education in elementary schools in the wider area of Poros, Galatas, and Methana.
