Exodus

Due to the mandatory interruption of our lessons because of Covid-19, the need turned up for us to continue the Painting Workshop with Mara Dimopoulou. Therefore, we created an Online Painting Workshop, suitable for all levels and ages, as was also the case with the face-to-face one. Making our face-to-face lessons online has been a unique experience for Katheti too. It had many difficulties for us in store, that we had to tackle throughout the workshop. Of course, it was an outlet for us too, a wonderful getaway in the challenging quarantine circumstances, let alone for the students of the workshop themselves. The group of these students grew in this online journey. It travelled to various places in Greece, it brought us close to people whom under different circumstances we would never have met or they wouldn’t have ever met us. This was a great reward for the Katheti team. The students of the workshop, among other things, were looking for their own getaways through the various activities. Whether by looking at a picture and trying to depict it, by looking at their mirror or outside their window, but mostly looking into their inner selves. Our students, through a series of six lessons, explored tonality, portraiture, landscape painting, marine art and illustration. Through this art journey, they made wonderful creations which we felt we wanted to exhibit in the premises of Katheti. We thought it would be wonderful for us to share with you these “coloured windows” we discovered with them. It would be our pleasure to welcome you (always adhering to the precautions) and travel altogether with the artwork of the students of Katheti’s Painting Workshop. We are looking forward to seeing you!
