Personal values: Our personal compass
Our values are what guides us in life; when whatever we do aligns with them, then we feel that our life is good. However, when things that make us sad happen, then we can easily lose control or feel disappointed.
Concepts like morality and ideals are topics of discussion at school and they usually form a crucial part of the lesson. Educators, though, need to act in an objective way and be able to handle these sensitive cases. Therefore, educators need to hold the right tools in order to explore themselves first. Join us to explore our values together and to learn about concepts like self-awareness, empathy and self-consciousness through experiential exercises which you can easily use in your class in a two-hour, interactive seminar.
The trainer Anastasia Karouti, an English language teacher and translator with postgraduate studies on gender studies and feminist theory, has received training on education, non-formal and experiential learning, intercultural communication, and the Erasmus+ programme in Greece and abroad. For two years, she had been working as a trainer and educational counsellor at non-profit organisations in Romania. In 2013-2014, she participated in GROW, a nationwide educational programme for personal and professional development. As a trainer, she was responsible for designing and delivering experiential learning workshops to teenagers, as well as training international volunteers on non-formal learning.
The workshop is suitable for educators, as well as for the general public.
