Toolbox for foreign language teaching

16 October 19

If you are a foreign language teacher or if you teach Greek as a foreign language, join us on 16 October in order to attend a presentation of materials and innovative activities. The seminar discusses foreign language teaching and gives teachers the opportunity to create a toolbox of materials they can make use of in the future.

The seminar, which is part of the “School of Educators”,  is a great opportunity for the participants to reflect on the methodology they are currently applying and on the results they have. The participants will need to evaluate their materials and see how they can improve their approach in order to be learner-oriented and not exam- or teacher-oriented, as well as how to help their students be fluent in the foreign language. Lastly, in this way the foreign language teachers of the local area can meet and consider possible collaborations.

Agenda:

  • Learning objectives
  • Language skills
  • Teaching methodologies
  • How to present theory
  • Speaking/Writing activities
  • Writing activities
  • Activities for all skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing)
  • Challenges and solutions

Join our 2-hour seminar with Anastasia Karouti as your trainer to learn more and to get educational materials and tools. The seminar is suitable for both foreign language teachers, teachers of Greek as a foreign language and educators in general. All participants are going to receive an electronic folder with notes and references they can consult.

The seminar is part of the “School of Educators”, the series of training seminars for educators by Katheti.

The trainer Anastasia Karouti, an English language teacher and translator with postgraduate studies on gender studies and feminist theory, has received training on education, non-formal and experiential learning, intercultural communication, and the Erasmus+ programme in Greece and abroad. For two years, she had been working as a trainer and educational counsellor at non-profit organisations in Romania. In 2013-2014, she participated in GROW, a nationwide educational programme for personal and professional development. As a trainer, she was responsible for designing and delivering experiential learning workshops to teenagers, as well as training international volunteers on non-formal learning.
