Train the Trainers workshop

24 April 23

Eat4Change at Galatas

Habits related to our diet and how we treat our environment play an important role not only in our health but also for the sustainability of our planet. For that reason, a youth group from all over Europe, members of the environmental organization WWF, visits Galatas between the 24th and 28th of April, 2023, for the Eat4Change Train the Trainers workshop (TtT). The group of young individuals with their leaders will stay at the environmentally friendly Odyssey Eco Farm glamping. Katheti supports and actively participates in this cause, welcoming the Eat4Change Train the Trainers workshop to Galatas.

Eat4Change is a growing international network of youth workers engaged in climate protection, youth empowerment and active citizenship. Last year the workshop took place in two different countries, Finland and Portugal. Now we host this important workshop in Galatas. Katheti is an organization that cares for the environment and sustainable tourism and recognizes the importance of active citizenship. So, we happily participate in this workshop. One of Katheti’s team members, Tasos Rodis, will participate in the training, learning more about sustainable diet and youth engagement. A skill that he will be able to put in practice working with Katheti, as Katheti’s aim is to get knowledge and experience that can be applied in future projects and events in our area. Moreover, Katheti is going to offer the Sokakia game to the youth workers, giving them the chance to explore the beauty of Sfairia through an adventurous and fun activity.

Katheti actively participates at the Train the Trainers workshop as part of its vision to promote our area’s sustainable development, with respect for the local people, culture and environment. This vision can be achieved through continuous effort and collaborations such as the Ec(h)o initiative and Project Resound. In the past, Katheti also participated in sustainability projects, such as INCIRCLE and Smart villages. Katheti also supported WWF’s eat4change program last year, when a group of young Greek individuals visited Galatas.
