Katheti zooms in on Miltiadis Fiorentzis
Miltiadis Fiorentzis is a charismatic actor with a long and successful theatrical career. His assets include important leading roles, participation in festivals in Greece and abroad and collaborations with directors such as Theodoros Terzopoulos and Konstantin Bogomolov. In recent years, he has also directed, with works such as the play “Clara Schumann”, which was staged at the Lefteris Vogiatzis Theater on Cyclades Street.
He is also active as a speech and performance coach. He helps people improve their public speaking and remove barriers that separate them from the life they envision.
Miltiadis Fiorentzis, in his conversation with Fay Orfanidou, expresses his views on the times we live in, the theater and coaching.
Look towards the light
That is what he urges us to do. He refers to the health crisis as a challenge to survive without altering his endurance, optimism and faith. He says characteristically: “That was what kept the lighthouse bright inside me.” He expresses his desire to belong to a world which every day gives a small or a big battle with fear and wins. He advises us to listen to our inner self, which may be ready for change. He speaks of humility and strength, two elements that his experience from the ancient theater of Epidaurus gave him. “I had the opportunity to perform at this sacred place, and the reason I call it sacred is because, in ancient times, theaters functioned as sanatoriums. That is why Epidaurus essentially means on the aura.”
Both qualities of Miltiadis Fiorentzis, as an actor and as a coach, are directly related to Katheti’s activities. Katheti offers free private coaching sessions to its members. The main goal is to inspire those who are interested in maximizing their personal and professional potential. Katheti’s activities also include the Theater documentation of Poros and Troizinia-Methana. An effort to research the history, the culture and the people of our area and to reflect them through theatrical praxis.
