Fish farming: The imminent threat of their expansion and the ignorance of risk

Support us

Katheti is a cultural and educational center that serves the people of the Poros-Galatas wider region. We support local artisans and entrepreneurs, students preparing for their futures, and all those who seek to expand their horizons, learn new skills, share knowledge, and celebrate the richness of our culture. Our mission is to galvanize the deep expertise and creativity already resident in the local community and to provide the additional resources that encourage sustainable growth. Support us.

Katheti offers, among other things, movie screenings, library, workshops for educators, Greek language lessons to immigrants, free programming lessons to local students, painting lessons, painting and photography exhibitions and much more. Almost all the services provided are free or at a cost price. In order to continue offering and add to our free services, we need your support. You can support us in different ways:

1. By donating or becoming a member

The first way in which you can contribute to our development and financial support is by donating. Here, you can see some suggested amounts with which you can support us, and our bank account.

You can also become a member of Katheti, with an annual fee of 20 euros for adults and 10 euros for unemployed and children. As members, you get a named membership card, priority in all our activities, and the privilege to borrow books from our library. Come by Katheti with an official identification document in order to get your membership card and access to the benefits that it provides!

2. YouBeHero

Another way in which you can help Katheti in its work, without paying anything out of your pocket, is through YouBeHero. YouBeHero is a free and easy way to collect donations for your favorite organization. To be more precise, YouBeHero is an online platform which services non-profit organizations and, with a simple, free subscription, anyone can select which organization they wish to support. After subscribing, they just do their purchases online through the platform and the shops give a percentage of the amount to the selected organization. The only thing you need to do is subscribe here and select Katheti as the organization you wish to support. Then, with every online purchase you make, you help us achieve the goals we have set on the platform.

3. Volunteering

Another, very important way to support Katheti is by volunteering. Katheti owes a lot to its volunteers for the support and help.

Volunteering is an integral part of our function. Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to carry out our work. In the past two years, around ten people have supported Katheti as volunteers. Each volunteer has contributed greatly to what we are trying to build at Katheti.

You can read more about volunteering at Katheti here and become volunteers by filling in the volunteer application.
