Poros Arts Festival – Street Art Festival
Poros Arts Festival – Street Art Festival
If, in the next few days, you see people playing music, embroidering, and painting along Poros promenade, don’t be surprised! It is the Street Arts Festival, which takes place on our island, from July 11th to 13th. The festival is part of the Poros Arts Festival, part of which Poros Municipality has entrusted to Katheti to co-organize this year. All events raise money for little Valeria.
What will we see?
Greek music
Foreign and Greek music, with guitar, flute, voice and stand-up comedy.
Exhibition of small artworks (calendars, handmade hats, small paintings, etc.)
The storytelling and puppet theatre group Glaroi presents its rebetiko puppet band with characters of persons who wrote the history of rebetiko music.
Embroidery and handmade creations.
Where will they be?
Specifically, the places where you will meet performers and street artists are the following:
- Kanonia (opposite Citronne Gallery)
- Promenade, across from the National Bank of Greece
- Iroon Square
- Town Hall Square
- Pounta promenade, across from Primasera restaurant
At each point we will have the opportunity to see a different artist every night.
In the past, Katheti has organized photography and painting exhibitions, theater workshops and seminars, painting workshops, theatrical performances, book presentations, and events for children to support the local community’s cultural development. Some of our activities are those that we achieved in 2021 and 2022, giving us the experience and impetus to continue even more dynamically this year.
