Poros has inspired great writers such as George Seferis and Henry Miller. However, it also has its own literary tradition. Despite the adverse conditions of the pandemic, the island has seen a great literary boom, which has given us books of diverse interests by local authors, as well as by friends and enthusiasts of the region. On Saturday 5 August at 9:00 pm, at the open theater of Syggrou, the Hatzopouleios Municipal Library presents Poros’s literary activity for the period 2020-2023.

The presentation will be brief, with images, commentary on the content and a short statement by each author. The event is curated by Hatzopouleios Municipal Library and Giannis Maniatis is responsible for the organization of the event.

Katheti loves literature and cares for the preservation of local cultural heritage. On our website we promote local literary and overall cultural production. We also organized presentations of the children’s book “Do books actually talk?” by the author Eleni Petala. In broader terms, Katheti is involved in the promotion of local history and has actually organized the workshop “Theater documentation of Poros, Troizinia and Methana”, which led to the performance “Passage” in the summer of 2021.

At all the events of this year’s Poros Arts Festival, money is raised to support little Valeria.
