The picturesque square of Agios Georgios on Poros will be filled with “World Music” on the evening of 26 August at 9pm. The talented local -but also cosmopolitan- singer Dimos Koumaridis will offer the island’s audience an August evening with world hits, as well as timeless songs from the Greek repertoire. With him, the distinguished performer Evdokia Rapti, with a rich singing career alongside great names of the Greek music scene. They will be accompanied on the piano by the excellent composer, orchestra conductor and pianist Andreas Boutsikakis. The event is part of Poros Arts Festival, which the Municipality of Poros has assigned to Katheti to co-organize for 2023.

Dimos Koumaridis is an artist who can hardly be classified in only one genre of singing. He can easily and very successfully perform songs both of the foreign music scene and the Greek repertoire. Accompanying his performances with string instruments (bouzouki, guitar, etc.) he offers a full performance on stage. Dimos Koumaridis worked in Brighton, England, where he has lived for many years, and continues to communicate with the English audience. At the same time, he sings and communicates with our local audience and visitors from all over the world.

Katheti loves and supports music, with its activities such as the music workshop Synthesis & Anasynthesis and the choral workshop, that lead to the concert with songs from “Fairy tail without a name”. Our past achievements in 2021 and 2022 give us the experience and the impetus to continue with even more energy this year.

In all the events of this year’s Poros Arts Festival, money is collected for the support of little Valeria.
