If one of the next few days you hear happy children’s voices in the neighborhoods of Sfairia, don’t be surprised! We will clean the alleys together with KDAP Poros! Katheti in collaboration with KDAP Poros will carry out voluntary clean-up on Tuesday 31 October at 4:30 pm. Departing from the Creative Activity Center, we will walk through some of the island’s beautiful alleys and leave them clean and even brighter in our wake!

This activity aims to teach children the benefits of volunteering work and at the same time to get acquainted with the beautiful neighborhoods of the island. Volunteering is an act through which young people learn how to be active members in their community and at the same time acquire social awareness and new skills. Also, this volunteering activity contributes to the development of environmental awareness from an early age in children, as the environmental crisis mainly concerns them and their future. We would like to thank teacher Mara Dimopoulou for our excellent collaboration so far. We aspire to create activities that aim at the multifaceted education and development of children and young people. For this reason, our goal at Katheti is to organize a voluntary clean-up every month.

Katheti actively supports the protection of the environment and sustainability. In the past, we have voluntarily cleaned up beaches in our area with students of Galatas High School, as well as with Troizinia’s KDAP children, through the “Adopt a Beach” program. At the same time, at Katheti we believe in volunteer work, through which we raise awareness, acquire new friendships, work experience, countless skills and we develop as people and professionals.
