On Wednesday 22^nd of November at 10:00 am, we clean the beach of Metamorfosi (Melissi) together with the Kindergarten and the Primary School of Troizina. This time the children will not bring their towels and beach toys, but with gloves and bags they are going to clean up the beach. The voluntary clean-up is carried out by Katheti in collaboration with the Kindergarten and the Primary School of Troizina.

The children, accompanied by their educators, will walk at Psifta and Melissi beach collecting as much garbage as they can. At the same time, a waste recording will be made with the types of garbage that will be collected. As part of the activity, the children will be divided into two groups and through painting they will capture the image of the beach before and after the clean-up. This experiential activity aims to raise awareness among students and promote the value of volunteering by creating positive impact on the environment. At the same time, the activity promotes the active involvement of the school community in the society in order to develop the students’ all-round personality.

We would like to thank the kindergarten teachers Anna Psomadaki and Niki Papadopoulou, as well as the Primary School teachers Stamatia Chondraki, Maria Gianni, and Angeliki Organopoulou for our excellent collaboration. At Katheti, we aspire to create activities that aim at the multifaceted education and development of children and young people. For this reason, our goal is to organize a voluntary clean-up every month.

Katheti actively supports the protection of the environment and sustainability. In the past, we have voluntarily cleaned up beaches in our area with students of Galatas High School and with Troizinia’s KDAP children through the “Adopt a Beach” program. Recently, we also cleaned up the alleys of Sfairia with Poros KDAP. At the same time, at Katheti we believe in volunteer work, through which we raise awareness, acquire new friendships, work experience, countless skills and we develop as people and professionals. Additionally, Katheti supports the educational and student community by offering free membership to teachers and students of our area.
