August of classical music on Poros
In the clear blue waters of the Saronic Gulf, our island becomes the perfect setting for an unforgettable melodic adventure. This August will be an August of classical music on Poros. The pandemic has taken a lot away from us, but it excites us to see that, after three years, Poros is back in full swing in the cultural scene. Throughout August, the island will once again host a range of musicians, from students to renowned Greek and international ones. It will be a month full of classical music events, in wich we are all invited!

Classical music happening | 13 August
As part of Poros Arts Festival, Sophia Zarani, a local artist, will perform crossover classical pieces of familiar melodies that we have all loved, from the rock of the famous Clock Tower of Poros.
Saronic Chamber Music Festival | 18-22 August
Chamber music concerts are coming to Poros, Methana and Hydra. We will be listening to melodies by Mozart, Mendelssohn and other great composers who made history, with the participation of well-known artists such as Jonathan Stone.
Piano Concert for Valeria | 19 August
At the Syggrou open theatre, we will have the opportunity to enjoy Achilleas Wastor and Elisavet Mantopoulou in a concert to support the battle of little Valeria. At the same time, money will be raised for this cause. The concert is part of the Poros Arts Festival.
12th International Summer Academy and Piano Festival | 20-30 August
Starting with the opening ceremony at the Syggrou open theatre on the 20th of August at 7 pm, we are all invited to attend the Academy’s lessons and daily evening concerts. The highlight of the Festival is the famous piano recital at the Sanctuary of Poseidon, on the 25th of August, with the participation of distinguished soloists of the Academy.
Katheti loves and supports music, through its activities such as the Synthesis & Anasynthesis music workshop and the choral workshop that led to a concert with the songs from “Παραμύθι χωρίς όνομα” (A Tale Without a Name). For this reason, Katheti also accepted to co-organize Poros Arts Festival 2023, with an assignment by the Municipality of Poros. At the same time, it promotes all the events of Poros, Troizinia and Methana through a Local Events Calendar hosted on its website.
