Local events calendar
Aiming to promote local events, Katheti created the innovative digital Local Events Calendar. Covering the wider area of the Municipalities of Poros and Troizinia-Methana, the main purpose of the calendar is to inform locals and visitors about the planned events. In the calendar you will be able to find planned events related to culture, education, sports and the general events promoting the development of the area. One click is enough to find the important events happening in our region. The calendar hosts each scheduled event in two languages, Greek and English.
Katheti has already met and briefed people from important organizations in our region, and the first local events have already been placed on the calendar. At the same time, the calendar will soon be advertised through banners in important electronic media, in order to increase its readability and accessibility. Katheti’s “Calendar of local events” is part of a broader effort to create a network of all cultural, educational and sports institutions of the Municipalities of Poros and Troizinia-Methana, i.e. the “Friends of the region”. In this way we are seeking important collaborations for better coordination of local events, joint creation of events and fundraising, and mutual promotion of events of from different organizations. Katheti has initiating meetings with representatives of local stakeholders to inform them of this effort. In the next planned steps, it is included an invitation for a meeting of stakeholder representatives to initiate important partnerships.
Katheti works towards the sustainable development of the region with respect to people, culture and the environment, through cultural, educational and environmental activities. This vision is reflected in Katheti’s actions in the previous years (2021, 2022), as well as in its efforts to promote the local area through actions such as this year’s Poros Arts Festival and articles highlighting the local area: the arts, the organization and their events.
