The screenings group continues projecting short films
Katheti continues to host the evening screenings to the enthusiasts of good cinema. The screenings group continues projecting short films every Monday at 8pm, at Katheti in Galatas. At the same time, the participants have the opportunity to discuss the social issues that each film touches. Joining the Screenings Group is free for Katheti’s members.
Let’s get closer…
The new circumstances in our society arose due to the pandemic led us to the decision of selecting and showing short films with subtitles. We recognized that in the previous years, people found themselves watching many movies and TV series mostly alone. At the same time, all these months of isolation during the pandemic had a direct negative impact to our social interaction and expression.
…through everyday issues
With that in mind, and with the intention to reverse that negative social impact caused by the pandemic, we decided to re-design the screenings group. The one and only reason for choosing short films is that it gives the members more time to analyze and discuss what they have watched. We will be glad to see you in person, to watch once again movies together, to discuss daily issues and main concerns of our society, through the art of cinema.
Katheti promotes culture and the arts in all their forms. This is also the reason why the actions are linked to education and artistic expression! In the past Katheti has organized A two-day workshop on Philosophy & Cinema as well as the theater workshop “Theater documentation of Poros and Troizinia-Methana”, which led to the successful performance “Passage”. Also, in the summer of 2022 Katheti organized the theater seminar “From the tribes of the world to our ‘tribe” and brought the play “Ιστορία ενός σκύλου που τον έλεγαν πιστό” (The story of a dog called faithful) to our area. Moreover, last fall Katheti promoted a casting and took part in the production of the movie “KYUKA”.
