“Athlesis” Album
Athleticism contributes to personality’s multifaceted and harmonious development, as well as physical health. It is a social institution that reflects a society’s culture. The “Athlesis” album is a tribute to the concept of athleticism, presented through the photographers’ artistic eye, the same as the namesake photo exhibition.
The photo exhibition “Athlesis”
For the past six years, at the beginning of summer, Poros gives its own ‘’rendezvous’’ with athletes from all over Greece and abroad at the Porosea sports event. Having the sports event Porosea as a motive and inspiration, Katheti organized the summer photo exhibition “Athlesis”.
The exhibition was hosted at the Syggrou building on Poros from May 26th to June 30th, 2022. It’s aim was to highlight the local athletic tradition, as well as athleticism in general.
The album “Athlesis”
The album “Athlesis” is a high-quality publication, in Greek and in English. Within its pages, it hosts the works of the seven photographers who participated in the exhibition, and have origins in our region or are related to it. It is a collection of unique and impressive athletic snapshots, captured through the photographic lens. It also contains a short biography of the artists, as well as their thinking in relation to the specific photos, so that we can get to know them better.
The album “Athlesis” is a very beautiful souvenir of the exhibition, created with the aim to highlight the creativity that exists locally and the area’s links with athleticism. At the same time, it emphasizes the close relation between sports and culture, while at the same time supports the growth of sports tourism in our area.
You can obtain it at the price of €15, at the same time contributing to Katheti’s work and activities. For example, the exhibition “Bridges“, the theater play “Passage“, the exhibition “Athlesis” and many other activities, which highlight the culture, history and richness of our area.
