Mentoring at Katheti
Katheti, within the “Life & Career” program, is launching a mentoring (guidance) course for young people. Mentoring at Katheti is composed of three parts:
- Local residents
- Greeks who are active in Greece and abroad
- Top professionals from around the world
1. Mentoring by local residents
In the first part, Katheti enables local professionals to share their experience with the young people of the area. Through a series of videos, professionals, entrepreneurs and generally active locals with an innovative approach and love for their profession are becoming mentors for the generations to follow. Katheti’s mentors are creating short videos in which they talk about their job, they introduce the world of their profession and they share advice and innovative ideas which they may have applied in their profession. In this way, local youth has the opportunity to come into closer contact with a profession they might be thinking of following themselves.
These professionals, in the role of the mentor, are introducing themselves to the local youth, as well as presenting their profession and their ideas. Talking about their accomplishments, they are inspiring and encouraging local youth, providing their advice their knowledge and their expertise on their field. By watching these videos, young people can delve deeper into the profession they might be thinking of following, getting familiar with it through a successful entrepreneur.
These videos are the first part of Katheti’s effort to create a network of mentors from the local area. When the circumstances allow, lectures and discussions aiming to inform young people more efficiently will be conducted in person, always in collaboration with local professionals.
This part also includes the interviews that we take almost monthly with the occasion of actions or activities in the area. All the interviews are either by locals or by people with professional association with the area.
2. Mentoring by Greeks who are active in Greece and abroad
Upon lifting of Covid-19 measures, a broader component of the mentoring course will be implemented. It entails Greek professionals who are active in Greece and abroad. The local youth will be able to interact via conference calls with a large number of Greek professionals. Thus, they will be able to make informed decisions in relation to their life and career. This part will be implemented in collaboration with the Tipping Point in Education. An organization that has already cooperated with 289 schools and other entities throughout Greece.
The mentoring program for students is complementary to the Career Guidance program, which has already been launched by Katheti. It is a counseling procedure based on psychometric tools and it is provided completely free by Katheti. These tools are offered to local high school students at cost price (40 euros) by Evalion, via the EvCareer program. Katheti is offering the career guidance program completely free to the first 10 adolescents who will express their interest.
3. Mentoring by top professionals from around the world
The third part of the course brings top professionals from around the world closer to you, through a series of videos. This part has two components:
SI Intelligence Videos
Katheti has managed to secure and subtitle five Success Intelligence videos by DK Leadership for the local residents! The approximately 10-minute videos provide information and practical advice regarding skills vital for success: goal-setting, productivity, time-management, stress-management, self-motivation, etc.
DK Leadership is a global coaching company aiming to develop leadership skills in organizations and families. It specializes in teaching how to develop practical tools for communication, productivity, time- and stress-management, that is, emotional intelligence skills. This company has above 20-year experience and over half a million clients from 17 countries!
Masterclass Videos
Upon the lifting of the measures regarding cultural places, Katheti will hold group video screenings of the Masterclass platform. Βusiness, photography, fashion, sports, games, writing, music, entertainment, culinary arts, film and TV. Top professionals from around the world are sharing their secrets and experiences with us, thanks to the annual subscription Katheti will secure.
